The Body Shop Oils Of Life Facial Oil – Welcome to The Body Shop Oils Of Life Intensively Revitalizing Facial Oil review! I received a sample of Oils of Life face oil in my newest (April) Glossybox. In my unboxing and first impressions video, I wasn’t entirely sure whether I would decide to try this oil myself. I’ve used many facial oils and haven’t had the best experience with any of them – my skin was prone to breakouts and allergic reactions when using them, and the condition of my skin was really discouraging me from living. Or at least that’s what I thought!
As I also mentioned in the video, temptation certainly won, and as I expected, it did! I found the facial oil on The Body Shop website and thought the description sounded amazing: “
The Body Shop Oils Of Life Facial Oil
By combining 3 precious seed oils from around the world, known for their revitalizing and repairing properties on the skin – black cumin seed oil from Egypt, camellia seed oil from China and rosehip seed oil from Chile – with a powerful blend of essential oils, we have created a light facial oil for daily use that intensively revitalizes the skin, immediately replenishes moisture and restores radiance.

The oil comes in a little gold bottle with a pipette, which I love for all petroleum products – of course the full size packaging is different, but this little tester works really well for me. It makes it easier to concentrate the amount you use and ensures that you don’t waste any valuable product in the process.
I was interested in trying the oil for many reasons. Number one is the amazing scent that instantly reminds me of a great spa. Secondly, the composition was important – a strong facial oil for everyday use, enriched with three valuable seed oils from around the world, 99% of which are oils of natural origin. The seed oils are cold pressed, which helps preserve their potent properties and ensures that your skin receives all the intended goodness.
The oil is marketed as a lightweight, fast-absorbing formula that melts into the skin, leaving no sticky residue and instead leaving a velvety-soft finish. The oil helps reduce the signs of aging by revitalizing the skin and leaving it more elastic and firmer.
I decided to take the risk and try the oil the same night after shooting the unboxing video. A risky move, considering my skin actually played ball for once. I added a few drops to my fingertips after cleansing and drying my face, then spread the oil on my skin, avoiding the eye and lip area. The oil was so nourishing and calming and the beautiful spa scent was truly calming and made application a relaxing experience. It left me with a velvety finish – not at all greasy and smooth – and my skin felt really comfortable and moisturized. I woke up the next day to find my skin feeling smooth and comfortable, and for the first time at night after using the oil, I didn’t experience any breakouts!

I used the oil both in the morning before applying makeup and in the evening before going to bed, and it worked well in both cases. The foundation stayed on as usual throughout the day, and after using it in the evening, my skin felt comfortable all night long.
I think this is a great all-purpose oil for all skin types – my skin is extremely sensitive and I’ve had good days using this oil twice a day, so I think all women with sensitive skin would have the same experience too!

The Body Shop describes Life Oils as “not a miracle, but it’s close,” which is intriguing. I hear you say, well, yes, it really is. Each product is based on seed oils, which are the key to the healthy appearance of our body and skin. Going back in time, Cleopatra in Egypt was said to have used seed oils in her beauty routine, and let’s be honest, her makeup and skin were spot on. Seed oils are known to be rich in nutrients and have regenerative properties. Oils of Life offers three seed oils; Black cumin seed oil from Egypt’s Nile Valley, known for its antioxidants, camellia seed oil from evergreen trees in China, rich in nourishing oleic acids, and rosehip seed oil from the Andean foothills in Chile, which is rich in omega 3 and 6 .
I have always been a fan of skin oils, probably because my skin is dehydrated, but these are designed to be used on all skin types. The range includes 4 key products, plus the facial massager you didn’t know you needed until you tried it.

Sounds good judging by the title, right? This is my favorite product from the Oils of Life series. I really like using essence balms, see similar from 001 skin care products. It can be used after cleansing and before a serum or moisturizer, so it works like a toner. It provides the skin with a pleasant, light coverage of the balm, without feeling greasy, revitalizes it and prepares it for the next step of daily care. Essence balms are very popular in Asia but aren’t as well known here, so it’s great to see The Body Shop add one of these to the collection. If you are not sure, please come into the store and try it, I am sure you will like it.
At first glance, this may seem like a rather expensive product, but compared to other facial oils on the market, I would say it is very good value for money. Facial oils have many benefits and do not leave the skin feeling greasy. Just a few drops can help nourish and revitalize the skin, making it more radiant. A great tip is to apply it to your face and then use the facial massage I talked about. I love applying this before bed and letting it do all the work.
If you don’t like facial oils, the gel may be for you. It’s not as heavy as the moisturizer in this range and contains illuminating micro pearls, so it can be great to wear under makeup. If you don’t like being too moisturized, this one is for you, it’s very light and soft on the skin and provides a wonderful cooling sensation.
If you prefer something a bit thicker, I recommend cream. I have dehydrated skin, so I would reach for this one. Vegetable oils are made up of fatty acids that help nourish the skin and help seed oils distinguish themselves from each other. The cream makes the skin exceptionally soft from the first use.

I must admit that this facial massager is amazing. It cools the skin and you can feel it quite strongly, in a pleasant way. It helps improve circulation in the face and reduce swelling and wrinkles. Use it together with your facial oil and follow the instructions on the packaging, they are very simple.
You can tell that The Body Shop has put a lot of research and thought into these skincare products and I think it’s a really beautiful range and a great way to introduce yourself to oils. If you’re familiar with oils, I’d say they’re very good value for money and have tons of benefits, so go treat yourself.
